Represented by Maison Kitsuné, Matveï’s newest drop, “Overdose (Nightfall Edition),” is a real banger. The Paris-based DJ / producer made this song as a festival-edit, and it definitely delivers on stadium-sized vibes. Within nearly a year of the original 2020 release of “Overdose,” Matveï’s career is stronger than ever. His tracks were featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds: Basement, and Deephouse Delight. Check out the “Overdose (Nightfall Edition)” below, followed by more on Matveï. You’ll hear elements of Bossa nova, hip hop, and R&B, interlaced with deep drops and beats. The single is part of his Seasons (Remixes) EP out 13 October 2021 via Kitsuné Musique.
Kitsuné’s Parisian 6
Matveï first came on the Kitsuné scene with the label’s 2020 release of “Parisian 6,” which includes 15 promising acts. In a Flaunt interview, his single “Get Lost” was cited as Kitsuné’s Gildas Loaëc’s favorite track on the compilation album. It’s no wonder he’s praised as a new French electronic trailblazer. In fact, The Line of Best Fit mentioned him as being on “the forefront of the escape room genre.” In addition to garnering over a million plays on Spotify, he’s received support from Martin Garrix, and created remixes for Future Classic, Liv Dawson, and Crystal Fingers.
2021 Paris Fashion Week
Matveï also live streamed a DJ set for the launch of Montblanc x Maison Kitsuné collection during the 2021 Paris Fashion Week alongside the legendary Peggy Gou. Watch the clip of his set below and get into what he’s serving up. You can read more about the collection on L’Officiel (in Italian).
It’s incredible how quickly Matveï is gaining momentum. With live events in full swing, it seems his festival sound arrived at the right moment. He’s ready for large scale parties.
